Salary conversions made simple
This tool converts a salary between yearly, monthly, weekly, and hourly amounts, and applies your estimated overall tax rate to show take-home pay at each level. It's handy for comparing a salaried offer against contract work, checking what a raise means per month, or budgeting from an hourly wage.
Worked example
On a 60,000 annual salary with a 40-hour week: gross monthly pay is 5,000 and the hourly equivalent is about 28.85. With a 20% effective tax rate, take-home is about 48,000 a year, or 4,000 a month — the number that matters for rent and budgeting.
Estimating your tax rate
Your effective rate is usually far below your top bracket because lower bands and allowances apply first. Estimate the income-tax portion precisely with our Income Tax calculator, then add your country's social contributions to get the total rate to use here.
